About the role
CBZ Bank Limited is seeking a dynamic leader to head its Workplace Banking division. You will shape strategy, drive growth and build strong employer relationships to expand the bank’s retail footprint.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Workplace Banking strategy, business plan and value proposition aligned with the bank’s overall retail strategy.
- Drive portfolio growth through acquisition, retention and deepening of employer relationships, payroll mandates and employee banking partnerships.
- Identify high‑potential sectors, employers and market trends to increase customer numbers, market share and revenue.
- Grow assets, deposits, lending, transaction volumes, digital adoption and non‑funded income while meeting profitability targets.
- Design and enhance segment‑led products and solutions that meet the financial needs of employers and their employees.
- Leverage ecosystem and cross‑selling opportunities across Retail, SME and Corporate Banking.
- Lead business origination, pipeline development and conversion of employer partnerships into multi‑product relationships.
- Collaborate with CBZ Holdings and other bank units to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Promote financial wellness and employee engagement programmes to strengthen acquisition and retention.
- Manage portfolio performance, risk, credit governance and regulatory compliance.
- Build a sales‑driven, customer‑centric culture through coaching, talent development and succession planning.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Commerce or related field.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Strategic Management or related discipline (preferred).
- Professional banking qualification such as Chartered Banker (advantageous).
- 8–10 years progressive banking experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Proven track record in sales leadership, business development, payroll relationship management, salary‑based lending and deposit mobilisation.
- Strong experience in product development, customer relationship management, digital banking, credit risk, regulatory compliance and banking operations.
- Excellent strategic leadership, commercial acumen, stakeholder management, negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
