Head of Affluent Banking

About the role

CBZ Bank Limited is seeking a dynamic leader to head its Affluent Banking division. The role will shape the strategy for Prime, Private, and Wealth Management services, ensuring they align with the bank’s broader retail growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive Affluent Banking strategy covering Prime, Private, and Wealth Management.
• Lead the creation and continuous improvement of the customer value proposition for high‑net‑worth segments.
• Drive acquisition, growth, and retention of affluent customers while building a profitable portfolio.
• Oversee dedicated Affluent and Private Banking branches, integrating digital and physical service channels.
• Design and enhance banking, lending, investment, and wealth solutions tailored to affluent clients.
• Identify cross‑selling and ecosystem opportunities across Retail, Corporate, Treasury, and CBZ Holdings subsidiaries.
• Establish strategic partnerships locally, regionally, and internationally to broaden product offerings.
• Monitor portfolio performance, risk, and service quality, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Embed robust governance, risk, and control frameworks within the segment.
• Foster a high‑performance, advisory‑led culture through coaching, talent development, and succession planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Management, Marketing or related field.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or related discipline (preferred).
• Professional qualification in Banking, Private Banking or Wealth Management is an advantage.
• 8–10 years of progressive banking experience, with proven success in affluent, private banking or wealth management.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and launch customer value propositions and financial solutions for high‑net‑worth clients.
• Strong relationship management, networking, sales and business development capabilities.
• Proven leadership and people‑management skills, with experience building high‑performing teams.
