Group Forensic Services Analyst (Investigator)

About the role
The Group Forensic Services Analyst (Investigator) will independently plan, execute and report on forensic investigations at an operational level. Working within Old Mutual, the analyst will be accountable for delivering results over engagements lasting up to three months.
Key responsibilities
- Investigate suspected fraud or financial crime cases, gather and preserve electronic and physical evidence, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Produce fraud prevention reports and analyses, using fraud detection systems to identify patterns and support loss mitigation.
- Review external research and transaction data to identify emerging fraud trends and contribute to the development of prevention policies and monitoring systems.
- Handle regulatory and compliance incidents, applying current processes and advising senior colleagues on complex matters.
- Track budget progress within finance systems and report variances.
- Prepare forensic reports, executive summaries, case updates and management information for decision‑making.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders such as Legal, HR, Compliance, Risk, IT, business units, law enforcement and regulators.
- Identify non‑compliance within the team and escalate issues as required.
- Develop personal capabilities through training, coaching and ongoing education.

- Ability to work independently and manage investigations from start to finish.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for reporting findings and interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to continuous learning in forensic technology, regulations and industry best practices.
