Group Crushing & Comminution Engineer – Mining Projects

About the role

Our client, a leading mining company, is looking for a Group Crushing and Comminution Engineer to lead the design, construction, commissioning and optimisation of crushing and milling plants across several sites in Zimbabwe. The role is the technical authority for all crushing and comminution systems, ensuring robust, scalable and cost‑effective processing infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and optimisation of primary, secondary and tertiary crushing circuits.
• Specify and select crushers, screens, feeders, conveyors, mills and classification equipment.
• Perform comminution calculations such as Bond Work Index, power draw, circulating load and grind‑size optimisation.
• Develop standardised engineering templates and scalable plant designs.
• Integrate crushing and milling systems with downstream mineral recovery processes.
• Manage procurement, contractor selection, fabrication reviews, installation QA and plant commissioning.
• Conduct operational audits, monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or BSc).
• Extensive experience in heavy‑industrial or mining plant design, commissioning and optimisation.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑site projects and manage mechanical contractors.
