Grants Officer – Research & Innovation Division

About the role

The Research and Innovation Division is seeking a Grants Officer to manage external funding, support researchers, and ensure compliance with donor requirements. This full‑time position plays a key role in advancing the university’s research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Manage external funding sources and advise researchers on grant and consultancy policies.
• Identify research and innovation funding opportunities.
• Assist academic staff in preparing proposals, contracts, budgets, and related documentation.
• Lead workshops on grant writing, development, and compliance.
• Coordinate sub‑awards and post‑award processing.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with Monitoring & Evaluation officers.
• Work with the Bursar Division to monitor funds, assess procurement requests, and prepare financial reports.
• Ensure adherence to institutional and donor policies and oversee proper grant closure.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Research Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum one year of experience in research grants and consultancy management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
