Garden Hand

About the role

The A’Zambezi River Lodge is seeking a motivated Garden Hand to maintain the lush gardens and green spaces surrounding the lodge in Victoria Falls. Reporting to the Garden and Grounds Supervisor, you will play a key role in preserving the natural beauty that enhances guests’ experience.

Key responsibilities

• Install and maintain seasonal plants and decorative bedding.
• Mow, trim, edge and fertilize lawns and garden areas.
• Mulch, weed, and keep garden borders tidy.
• Prune trees and bushes to promote healthy growth.
• Maintain and operate gardening equipment such as mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers.
• Monitor plant health, address pest issues and apply appropriate treatments.
• Ensure gardens are free of debris and litter.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in gardening or horticulture.
• At least five O‑Level qualifications.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Familiarity with local plant species and landscaping design.

Required skills

• Knowledge of regional plant life.
• Understanding of pest control methods.
• Experience with synthetic and natural fertilizers.
• Awareness of health and safety regulations for landscaping.
