Foreman

About the role

The Foreman will lead a team of skilled technicians and mechanics in daily mining and production operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to Sandvik’s high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of technicians, mechanics, and production staff.
• Plan daily work schedules, allocate tasks, and monitor progress.
• Enforce safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, tools, and work areas.
• Provide on‑the‑job training, mentorship, and performance feedback.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and team performance.
• Communicate with management, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and assist in budgeting and resource allocation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in manufacturing, mining, or construction.
• Strong technical knowledge of Sandvik products or similar equipment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Solid understanding of safety protocols and best practices.
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Relevant trade qualification or technical certification is highly desirable.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of Sandvik products and operations.
• Reading technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
