Finance Intern

About the role

As a Finance Intern at Mukuru, you will gain hands‑on exposure to real financial operations while supporting the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the finance function. This role offers practical experience in a fast‑paced environment and the chance to work alongside experienced finance professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Petty Cash Management – reconcile petty cash balances, maintain documentation, and capture transactions in the accounting system.
• Payments & Creditors – process payment requisitions, verify invoice compliance, and support vendor payments.
• Reconciliations & Reporting – assist with balance‑sheet reconciliations, follow up on outstanding vendor statements, and support month‑end reporting activities.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) and a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• At least one year of experience or exposure in a finance environment.
• Detail‑oriented, curious, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Driven, self‑motivated, proactive, ethical, honest, and reliable.

• Strong reconciliation and analytical abilities.
