Business Development Officer

About the role

Crediconnect is hiring a Business Development Officer for its Harare branch, reporting to the Senior Business Development Officer. The role builds the company's loan portfolio by disbursing and recovering loans, acting as a liaison between clients and the company, helping qualifying applicants obtain loans, set up payment plans and meet repayment deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process loan applications and assess them, checking that pledged security is in order
• Disburse loans to qualifying applicants and manage the loan portfolio
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports
• Promote the company's products and services by anticipating clients' objectives
• Research new markets and customer needs and help develop growth strategies
• Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
• Help the branch administration keep records of receipts, purchases and asset registers

Required profile

• Degree in Banking and Finance or a related field
• At least three years of proven experience in microfinance, including one year in a similar position
• A certificate in microfinance, risk management or credit management is an added advantage
