Business Development and Training Officer

About the role

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation (SMEDCO) is looking for a motivated Business Development and Training Officer to drive growth for MSMEs, provide advisory support, and deliver training programmes that align with organisational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and support MSMEs with planning and growth strategies.
• Provide client onboarding, business advisory, and maintain strategic partnerships.
• Design, deliver, and evaluate entrepreneurship and technical training programmes.
• Conduct training needs assessments and coordinate logistics, schedules, and participant support.
• Support implementation of development programmes, monitor performance, and report on impact.
• Engage SMEs, partners, and stakeholders to promote SMEDCO services and strengthen collaboration.
• Prepare activity, performance, and outcome reports, tracking key performance indicators.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in business development, training, enterprise development or a similar role.
• Certification in Training is an advantage.
