Assistant Manager - Electronic Security Systems

About the role

TestHiring is recruiting an Assistant Manager in Harare, Zimbabwe, to manage and monitor electronic security systems such as CCTV, alarms, access control, biometric solutions and mantraps. The role covers system performance, surveillance footage handling, access control administration, risk assessment and coordination with security vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV, alarms, access control, biometric and mantrap systems, keeping track of uptime, faults and recurring issues and escalating them promptly.
• Support CCTV and surveillance operations, and facilitate the review and retrieval of footage for investigations and incident response while controlling its access, sharing, retention and disposal.
• Administer biometric authentication, card access, visitor management and mantrap controls; analyse access logs to spot irregular activity and ensure data complies with privacy and data protection requirements.
• Identify surveillance gaps and infrastructure vulnerabilities, recommend corrective actions and advise on security infrastructure for new facilities, refurbishments and technology projects.
• Collaborate with Information Security, Technology and Risk teams so systems are properly configured, patched and protected against cyber threats, and support business continuity and disaster recovery testing.
• Maintain an asset inventory, monitor maintenance schedules, warranties and service history, coordinate with service providers and vendors, and track vendor performance against SLAs.
• Assist in incident support, evidence collection, chain of custody and investigations into theft, fraud, vandalism and unauthorised access.
• Maintain security risk registers, support audits, run periodic risk and control assessments and prepare reports on performance, incidents, availability, maintenance and vendor performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Security Management, Risk Management or a related field.
• Certifications in electronic security systems, CCTV/VMS platforms, access control, investigations, cybersecurity or systems administration.
• Hands-on training or certification in enterprise security platforms such as Milestone, Cathexis, Dahua, Hikvision, Axis, GRG or similar.
• 3-5 years' experience in electronic and physical security infrastructure within banking, financial services or other high-security environments.
