Senior Investment Analyst – Alternative Investments

About the role

Old Mutual is seeking a Senior Investment Analyst to join its OMIG‑Alternative Investments portfolio. You will play a pivotal role in sourcing, evaluating, and managing private equity opportunities across diverse markets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, analyse and evaluate prospective private‑equity investment opportunities.
• Collect and analyse company and industry data to spot investment trends.
• Support due‑diligence, structuring and closing of new investments.
• Build detailed financial models, term sheets, investment appraisal presentations and bid documents.
• Review financial statements and key return metrics for portfolio companies.
• Prepare and maintain quarterly investment valuation reports and financial models.
• Interact extensively with senior management of target and investee companies.
• Provide regular feedback to clients on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Conduct special research and support other ad‑hoc projects as required.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accountancy or a related field.
• Working towards or holding a professional qualification such as CFA, CA or CAIA.
• 5+ years of experience in investment processes and management consultancy.
• Strong commercial acumen, ability to source and assess investment opportunities.
• Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
• High ethical standards and a detail‑oriented approach.
