Medical Officer – Plastic Surgery Department

About the role

CURE is seeking a qualified Medical Officer to join the Department of Plastics at its Bulawayo hospital. The role involves providing comprehensive clinical care across pre‑operative, intra‑operative and post‑operative phases for patients requiring plastic surgery, while supporting nursing staff and contributing to the hospital’s mission of holistic child care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical expertise in patient assessment, consultation and ongoing care.
• Participate in pre‑operative preparation, assist in surgeries and manage post‑operative follow‑up.
• Support outpatient clinics, mobile health teams and patient triage.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Engage in clinical governance activities such as morbidity‑mortality meetings, quality improvement projects and audits.
• Report to senior management and liaise between administrative and medical teams.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with full registration to practice.
• Demonstrated experience in a clinical setting, preferably with exposure to surgical care.
• Commitment to continuous learning and participation in research initiatives.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
