Head of Energy & Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a strategic Head of Energy & Infrastructure to lead the planning, deployment and optimisation of energy and charging networks for our battery‑swap stations across Zimbabwe. The role will drive renewable‑energy integration, manage grid connections and oversee the expansion of a reliable, cost‑effective power supply for our electric‑mobility operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design, commission and maintain energy infrastructure supporting battery‑swap stations nationwide.
• Develop and implement solar and hybrid energy solutions, integrating grid, solar PV and battery storage.
• Lead the design, installation and optimisation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and ensure scalable grid connectivity.
• Monitor energy consumption, tariffs and performance to reduce operating costs and improve efficiency.
• Apply telecom‑tower energy‑management best practices to guarantee power continuity for communication sites.
• Manage EPC contractors, consultants and service providers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality and safety standards.
• Report regularly on energy performance, ROI of renewable projects and cost‑saving initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in energy systems, renewable‑energy projects and infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of grid regulations, utility liaison and battery storage technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage large‑scale EPC contracts.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills with a focus on cost optimisation.
