General Manager – Heritage Expeditions Africa

About the role

Rainbow Tourism Group Limited is seeking a dynamic, commercially‑driven leader to head Heritage Expeditions Africa (HEXA). The General Manager will steer the business’s growth across local, regional and international tourism markets while ensuring exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Drive revenue growth, profitability and achievement of key business targets.
• Develop and execute business, sales and marketing strategies for HEXA.
• Expand the brand across local, regional and international markets.
• Design innovative tourism products, experiences and competitive packages.
• Build and nurture strategic partnerships and identify new business opportunities.
• Maintain strong financial, operational, asset and risk‑management controls.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing, commercially focused team.
• Champion innovation, service excellence and world‑class guest experiences.
• Maintain a regular presence across HEXA destinations and operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management or a related field (MBA preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of senior‑level experience in tour & travel operations and hospitality services.
• Proven commercial, business development and operational leadership capability.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Demonstrated innovation, creativity and thought leadership.
• High integrity, resilience and results‑orientation.
• Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 70% of the time).
