Director – Strategic Leadership for Mining Operations

About the role

The company is seeking a Director to provide strategic leadership for its mining operations in Harare, Zimbabwe. The role will drive sustainable growth, oversee exploration, mining and mineral processing activities, and ensure compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement business strategies that promote growth and profitability.
• Lead the planning and execution of operational and financial plans.
• Oversee exploration, mining and mineral processing activities, ensuring compliance with Zimbabwean mining legislation, environmental and health & safety standards.
• Identify new mining opportunities and investment prospects.
• Manage budgeting, financial performance and cost‑control measures.
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, regulators, investors, suppliers and local communities.
• Monitor operational performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage risk and uphold corporate governance practices.
• Mentor senior management and lead business development and strategic partnership efforts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Geology, Mineral Processing Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• Master’s degree (MBA or related) is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of senior management experience, preferably in the mining industry.
• Strong knowledge of exploration, mining and mineral processing operations.
• Understanding of Zimbabwe’s mining laws and regulatory framework.
• Proven leadership, strategic planning and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
