Business Development Manager for Rwanda & Burundi

About the role

Third Wave Power is seeking a full‑time remote Business Development Manager to drive growth in Rwanda and Burundi. You will identify new opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and expand the market presence of our renewable energy solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in Rwanda and Burundi.
• Build and maintain relationships with distributors, partners, and key stakeholders.
• Conduct market research, analyse customer needs and provide feedback for product localisation.
• Manage the sales pipeline, prepare proposals and presentations, and negotiate contracts.
• Coordinate with internal operations and marketing to ensure successful delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Report regularly on performance and participate in regional events or virtual meetings.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive sustainable growth.

Required profile

• Strong business development and sales experience, including lead generation, relationship management and deal negotiation.
• Experience in market research, opportunity analysis and strategic planning for emerging markets.
• Ability to manage partnerships and distribution networks, preferably in Rwanda, Burundi, DRC or other East African markets.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder‑engagement skills in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
• Familiarity with renewable energy, off‑grid solutions or consumer products for rural and urban communities.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting, prioritize tasks and meet targets.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, International Relations or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to travel within Rwanda and Burundi as needed.
