Team Leader – International Payments & Trade Finance

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated professional to lead our Trade and International Banking team. The Team Leader will oversee international payment and trade finance operations, ensure regulatory compliance, manage operational risks, and deliver exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Authorise and monitor international payment transactions, ensuring adherence to service level standards, cut‑off times and regulatory requirements (Exchange Control, AML, KYC).
• Review, authorise and oversee trade finance transactions, providing guidance on Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees and Documentary Collections while complying with UCP rules.
• Maintain internal controls, perform departmental reconciliations and support audit processes.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks, prevent revenue leakages and enforce transaction limits.
• Lead, motivate and develop team members, coordinate leave plans, conduct performance reviews and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Banking, Finance, Business Studies, Economics or a related field.
• Relevant professional banking experience, preferably in international payments and trade finance.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as Exchange Control, AML and KYC.
