Senior Rust Software Engineer – Remote Contractor

About the role

We are looking for a senior software engineer to design and implement reinforcement‑learning environments that evaluate AI models on real‑world software engineering tasks. The work is fully remote, part‑time (≈15 hrs/week), and focused on creating deterministic, reproducible test suites for Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain RL environments that simulate bug fixing, feature implementation, refactoring, and performance optimisation challenges.
• Design deterministic verification methods and golden‑reference solutions to measure tool usage and engineering ability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure environments reflect realistic MCP server interactions.
• Deliver high‑quality, well‑documented code and maintainability standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in complex software development and debugging.
• Strong analytical mindset with deep knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, especially in remote settings.
• Track record of delivering performant, scalable solutions.
