Python Open Source Contributor - Remote

About the role

We are looking for a remote Python Open Source Contributor to help enhance and maintain open‑source repositories that are critical to our customer’s projects. This contract position involves delivering production‑quality code, performing thorough reviews, and creating clear documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Write, review, and document production‑ready code for open‑source projects.
• Design, implement, and optimise algorithms and system components using languages such as Python, C++, Java, Go, Typescript or Rust.
• Identify and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks and other technical challenges in existing codebases.
• Collaborate with other contributors and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and best practices.
• Maintain and improve technical documentation to support onboarding and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in code discussions, providing constructive feedback to raise overall code quality.

Required profile

• Experience working on large‑scale, distributed codebases.
• Proven ability to conduct rigorous code reviews and contribute to software best practices.
• Familiarity with modern AI or machine‑learning systems is a plus, but not required.
