Procurement Manager – Dairy/FMCG

About the role

The Procurement Manager will lead both local and international sourcing activities for a dairy/FMCG operation in Zimbabwe, ensuring alignment with production plans, quality standards, and budget constraints.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement processes to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
• Source, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers; negotiate pricing, credit terms, delivery schedules, and contract conditions.
• Prepare weekly and monthly supplier payment plans in coordination with Finance and Treasury.
• Maintain contract and purchase‑order trackers covering quantities, prices, validity, deliveries, and payment milestones.
• Monitor inventory, consumption, and lead times to avoid shortages or excess stock.
• Oversee imports from order placement through shipping, customs clearance, and final delivery, controlling documentation, duties, and landed‑cost calculations.
• Track shipments and coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, transporters, banks, and regulatory authorities.
• Identify and escalate supply, quality, documentation, payment, and commercial risks; produce accurate management reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics or a related field.
• 6‑7 years of procurement experience, preferably in dairy, food‑processing or beverage sectors.
• Strong knowledge of dairy raw materials, ingredients, flavors, specifications and supplier‑quality requirements.
• Proven track record in payment planning, contract execution, imports, shipping documentation, customs duties, Incoterms and landed‑cost calculations.
• Experience handling dairy imports/exports.
• Strong ERP and Excel procurement‑system capability.
