Plant & Equipment Officer

About the role

The Plant & Equipment Officer will be based on‑site in Harare, Zimbabwe, managing the daily allocation and utilisation of plant and equipment across multiple infrastructure projects. This contract position involves close collaboration with site teams, suppliers and maintenance personnel to ensure equipment availability, safety and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily management, allocation and utilisation of plant and equipment across projects.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules, arrange repairs, inspections and equipment movements.
• Track asset usage, update equipment records and maintain accurate inventory of spare parts.
• Support compliance with health, safety and operational procedures.
• Liaise with site teams, vendors and maintenance staff to resolve equipment issues.
• Assist with budgeting, cost control and preparation of regular asset performance reports.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in plant, equipment, fleet or asset management within construction, civil engineering, mining or similar environments.
• Proven ability to plan and schedule equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards related to plant operations.
• Strong organisational, time‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Relevant diploma or degree in engineering, logistics, operations management or a related field (preferred).
• Previous on‑site experience in Zimbabwe or comparable contexts is an advantage.
