Mission Support Supervisor

About the role

The Mission Support Supervisor assists the Mission Support Manager in maintaining mission facilities and properties in Bulawayo. This full‑time, onsite position ensures buildings remain functional, safe, and well‑maintained while supervising staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Mission Support Manager with facility upkeep and preventative maintenance.
• Coordinate and report on mission facility needs to meet operational goals.
• Supervise the mission home attendant and mission driver, including performance reviews and expense approvals.
• Partner with HR to hire, terminate, and promote staff, handling onboarding, time‑off requests, and accident claims.
• Negotiate apartment leases, renewals, and closures.
• Scope, plan, and manage building maintenance projects, assigning work to vendors and ensuring cost, quality, and timeliness.
• Conduct inspections to verify compliance with standards and safety codes.
• Maintain inventory of church‑owned furnishings and oversee disposal of excess items.
• Build strong relationships with mission leaders, missionaries, and external vendors.

Required profile

• Three‑year National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
• At least two years of experience in facilities/property management, construction procedures, business practices, and safety/fire codes.
• Experience in front‑line management within a multi‑disciplinary environment.
• Professional communication skills with leaders, contractors, and vendors.
