Java Open Source Contributor - Remote

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Java Open Source Contributor to work remotely on production‑quality code for open‑source repositories that support our customer projects. You will join a collaborative team of developers and help shape best‑practice software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Write, review, and document production‑grade code for open‑source projects.
• Design, implement, and optimise complex algorithms and system components using languages such as C++, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and technical challenges in existing codebases.
• Collaborate with contributors and stakeholders to align deliverables with project goals.
• Create and maintain technical documentation to aid knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Participate in code discussions, providing constructive feedback to improve overall code quality.

Required profile

• Previous experience with large‑scale, distributed codebases.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous code reviews.
• Familiarity with open‑source contribution processes.
• Optional: exposure to modern AI or machine‑learning systems.
