Production Operator

About the role

Nestlé is seeking a Production Operator for its Harare factory. The role involves operating processing and filling lines to ensure continuous, high‑quality food production while adhering to strict hygiene, safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor processing and filling lines according to production plans.
• Set‑up, start‑up and control equipment parameters, maintaining documentation for traceability.
• Perform cleaning and hygiene tasks on equipment, floors and facilities in line with GMP and HACCP requirements.
• Monitor critical control points (CCP) and operational prerequisite programmes (OPRP) without deviation.
• Maintain line efficiency, performance targets (LLS, FTQ) and conduct regular inspections, including filter replacements.
• Execute breakdown, shutdown and plant‑cleaning activities as needed.
• Coordinate with supervisors and peers to achieve departmental objectives.
• Handle product, packaging and batch coding using Nestlé’s coding system.
• Conduct daily opening and closing cycle counts and verify material data via SAP reports.

Required profile

• A‑Level qualification.
• 3‑4 years of experience in the food industry, preferably on a production line.
• Strong understanding of hygiene, safety and quality standards.
• Ability to follow SOPs, QMS and work instructions accurately.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP business system.
• Experience using DMO and generating GLOBE reports.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, NGMP, GI‑21.010 and NQMS standards.
• Ability to operate processing and filling equipment and perform equipment set‑up.
• Competence in line efficiency monitoring and filter replacement.
