Cargo Supervisor – Zimbabwe

About the role

As a Cargo Supervisor you will be the main point of contact for operational matters, managing the cargo warehouse and freighter ramp at the assigned station(s). You will ensure safe, secure and on‑time delivery of high‑profile shipments while meeting performance targets such as OTP, eAWB, Cargo iQ, SLA and FAB.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and improve freighter on‑time performance (OTP) through ramp coordination and supervision of freighter operations.
• Plan and execute complex cargo loads for passenger and freighter flights.
• Provide on‑the‑job training, coaching and advice to GHA staff to raise competency.
• Conduct regular safety and security inspections in line with SMS guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Establish best practices to achieve revenue budgets, cost savings and compliance.
• Perform ad‑hoc tasks at other stations and support special services/VIP shipments from acceptance to delivery.
• Manage finance‑related activities in SAP, including raising PR, PO, GRN and verifying supplier invoices.
• Escalate medium or higher‑level risks to appropriate management personnel.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in cargo operations or equivalent capacity.
• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Familiarity with cargo handling processes, procedures and regulatory compliance expectations.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns and perform cross‑functional duties.

Required skills

• SAP (procurement and finance modules).
• Knowledge of eAWB, Cargo iQ and related air‑freight IT systems.
• Understanding of SMS safety management system and air‑freight specifications.
