Stores Assistant – Inventory Management (Gweru & Kwekwe)

About the role

The University is seeking motivated Stores Assistants to support inventory operations at its Gweru and Kwekwe campuses. You will play a key part in maintaining accurate stock levels, ensuring timely replenishment, and supporting the smooth functioning of campus stores.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor inventory levels and verify re‑order points on a regular basis.
• Initiate purchase requisitions to guarantee timely stock replenishment.
• Inspect and receive goods from suppliers, confirming that deliveries meet required specifications.
• Maintain warehouses in a clean, secure, and orderly state for easy identification and retrieval of items.
• Issue inventory to authorised departments following established procedures.
• Update and keep accurate inventory management records.
• Conduct daily inventory checks and reconciliations to ensure stock accuracy.
• Participate in stocktakes as directed, ensuring high counting accuracy.
• File and maintain all completed stores documentation.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• A degree in Accounting, Business Management, Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
• At least one year of post‑qualification experience in inventory management.
• Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Pastel (Sage 200 Evolution) – preferred.
