Senior Communications Officer

About the role

Equimundo is seeking a Senior Communications Officer to lead the translation of research‑driven content into engaging digital communications. You will work closely with research, program, advocacy and executive teams to amplify the organisation’s impact across social media, email, and the website.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to turn technical publications into social media posts, blogs, and press releases.
• Develop and maintain an organisation‑wide content calendar and set social‑media goals with the Senior Communications Associate.
• Design and execute email‑marketing campaigns promoting reports, events and news.
• Manage Equimundo’s Substack account and oversee website updates with internal staff and external vendors.
• Co‑create and implement a comprehensive communications and PR strategy aligned with organisational events.
• Support report launches, conference preparation and other external engagements.
• Supervise the Senior Communications Associate and Multimedia Communications Associate, providing feedback and performance reviews.
• Manage vendors and consultants for public relations, graphic design and related services.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in communications, graphic design, journalism or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in communications or media.
• Passion for gender equality, social justice and healthy masculinity initiatives.
• Strong writing and editing abilities with a keen sense of institutional voice.
• Proven ability to collaborate across departments and advise leadership on communication trends.
