Risk and Compliance Manager

About the role

The Risk and Compliance Manager will lead the risk management framework, credit policy, compliance, and loan recovery functions for our hire‑purchase business. The role is essential to protect the balance sheet and keep the non‑performing loan ratio below 5%.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve the risk management framework, conducting regular risk assessments and audits.
• Lead the creation and maintenance of credit policies, analysing credit data and financial statements to mitigate credit risk.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and industry standards, and deliver compliance training across the organisation.
• Design and execute loan recovery strategies, monitor loan performance and collaborate with legal teams on collections.
• Prepare comprehensive risk and compliance reports for senior management and the board, using data analytics to evaluate effectiveness.
• Act as the primary liaison with regulators, auditors and internal stakeholders, building relationships with external partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM) or Certified Compliance professional.
• Proven experience in risk management and compliance within the financial services industry.
• Strong analytical abilities and deep understanding of regulatory requirements.
