Consultant – Testing MICS Foundational Learning Module 2.0 (Harare)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a consultant to lead the testing of the second and third field pilots of the MICS Foundational Learning Module 2.0 (FLM2.0b) in Zimbabwe. The assignment, based in Harare with travel to Bulawayo and Masvingo, will run for approximately 7.5 months and supports the country’s reporting on SDG 4.1.1b.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the school‑based field test in Bulawayo (Oct 2026) and the household‑based test in Masvingo (Jan 2027).
• Support finalisation and dissemination of guidance for rolling out FLM2.0b in MICS 8.
• Lead secondary analysis of the Zimbabwe MICS 7 Foundational Learning Skills Module, including cleaning data, producing syntax/code files and updating the country data repository.
• Provide technical assistance on MICS learning assessment, data analysis, documentation and evidence‑use to the Zimbabwe Country Office.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Social Sciences, Demography, Statistics, Epidemiology or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in survey planning, budgeting and questionnaire customization.
• Proven ability to coordinate complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deliver results on time.
