Stock Controller – Fixed-Term (4 months)

About the role

The University’s Kwekwe campus retail shop is seeking a Stock Controller on a four‑month fixed‑term basis. You will support day‑to‑day risk management, minimise inventory loss and ensure that stock handling processes are followed across the store.

Key responsibilities

• Assist management in risk‑management activities and implement strategies to reduce theft, errors and fraud.
• Monitor adherence to standard operating procedures to prevent shoplifting, vandalism, counter‑feiting and other security incidents.
• Liaise with all departments to keep stock losses from expiries, breakages and staff theft within target levels.
• Oversee stock movements – receiving, warehousing, merchandising and inter‑store transfers – ensuring proper controls.
• Coordinate scheduled stock‑takes and capture accurate results.
• Manage expiries and breakages to maintain stock integrity.
• Perform any other relevant duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum of five ‘O’ level passes including Mathematics and English.
• At least two years’ experience in stock and loss controlling within a retail FMCG environment.
• Certificate in Stock Controlling or Loss Controlling (or equivalent).
