Social Media Lead (Remote)

About the role

AI‑RISE is seeking a remote volunteer Social Media Lead to shape its online presence and amplify its mission of advancing artificial intelligence in Southern Africa. The role is fully remote and ideal for someone passionate about AI, technology education and community building.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute social‑media campaigns across Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.
• Create, edit and schedule posts that reflect a consistent brand voice.
• Monitor analytics, optimise content for reach and engagement, and report performance metrics.
• Engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster community interaction.
• Collaborate with the AI‑RISE team to promote events, educational resources and research highlights.

Required profile

• Strong written communication skills and ability to craft clear, engaging messages.
• Self‑motivated, reliable time‑management and comfortable working independently in a remote volunteer capacity.
• Interest in artificial intelligence, technology education and the Southern African context.
