Settlements and Reconciliations Manager

About the role

ZB Financial Holdings is looking for a highly analytical professional to lead its Settlements and Reconciliations function. The role oversees end‑to‑end settlement and reconciliation across banking and fintech platforms, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Act as technical lead on banking automation projects and integrate new technologies into core systems.
• Manage support, maintenance and upgrades of banking systems, monitoring performance and security.
• Oversee daily settlement processes for RTGS, ZIPIT, card, mobile money, POS, ATM, agency banking and digital wallets.
• Monitor and resolve settlement exceptions within service‑level agreements and maintain audit‑ready reconciliation records.
• Support digital banking and fintech reconciliation, ensuring seamless integration with payment gateways and partner systems.
• Implement operational controls to mitigate financial loss, fraud and AML/CFT risks while complying with RBZ regulations.
• Lead audit and compliance remediation, identify automation opportunities and drive process redesign.
• Develop and mentor the Settlements and Reconciliations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications preferred.
• 3‑5 years of managerial experience in banking operations, settlements, reconciliations or treasury.
• Proven experience in high‑volume payment environments, digital banking, card payments and mobile money.
• Strong knowledge of Zimbabwe’s payments landscape and relevant regulatory requirements.
