Operations Manager (Zimbabwe)

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead and coordinate all in‑country activities for the company in Zimbabwe. Based in Chinhoyi, the role ensures smooth daily operations across office, site, procurement, logistics and construction functions while maintaining strong links with senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across Zimbabwe, including office and site support.
• Coordinate site requirements, material logistics and operational needs.
• Supervise the Coordinator/Controller, buyers, drivers, construction managers and other support staff.
• Monitor site progress, manage delays, shortages and risks, and ensure timely requisition delivery.
• Prepare and deliver daily and weekly operational reports to senior management.
• Work with finance on cost tracking, supplier records and payment processes.
• Support procurement, sourcing and supplier follow‑ups.
• Ensure construction and site development works are properly managed.
• Improve systems, accountability and communication between sites and the office.
• Escalate critical operational issues immediately.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in operations, business, project, construction, engineering, mining or logistics.
• Proven experience managing operations, sites, teams or projects.
• Strong leadership and coordination abilities.
• Good understanding of procurement, logistics, site operations and reporting.
• Experience in mining, construction, civil works or plant operations is an advantage.
• Computer literate with ability to produce clear reports.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and deliver solutions.
