Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst

About the role

The Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst will support UNFPA Zimbabwe in developing, implementing and reviewing the monitoring and evaluation framework for the Country Programme. The role works closely with programme staff, partners and the UNCT M&E group to ensure results‑based indicators and data inform programming.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the UNFPA Country Office M&E plans, quarterly benchmarks and annual targets.
• Guide annual planning and reporting processes, ensuring baselines, targets and milestones are captured.
• Provide guidance on Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning concepts, design, training and best practices.
• Lead capacity‑building activities for UNFPA staff and implementing partners on results‑based management and data collection.
• Support programme monitoring, quality assurance, and the preparation of end‑year reporting on results, challenges and lessons.

Required profile

• Experience in monitoring and evaluation within development programmes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with programme, technical and partner staff.
• Strong analytical skills to assess political, social and economic trends.

Required skills

• Knowledge of results‑based management (RBM) and UNFPA M&E guidelines.
• Experience with data collection, analysis and reporting for programme monitoring.
