Maintenance Manager – Mining Operations

About the role

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance activities across its mining operations. The role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and availability while minimizing downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all maintenance work to keep equipment and facilities operating safely and efficiently.
• Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor maintenance tasks to meet deadlines.
• Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance teams.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Control maintenance budgets and manage costs.
• Oversee spare‑parts procurement and inventory.
• Collaborate with mining, production and other departments to optimise processes.
• Track performance with KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to limit operational impact.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of maintenance management experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with trackless mobile machinery in heavy mining or industrial settings.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and resources.

• CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) usage.
