Human Resources Manager (Zimbabwe & Zambia)

About the role

Wilderness is looking for a Human Resources Manager based in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, to deliver comprehensive HR services across Zimbabwe and Zambia. The role develops and executes a regional HR strategy covering recruitment, succession planning, talent management, employee engagement and relations, change management, performance management, training and development, and rewards management, while leading the regional HR team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the regional HR strategy and annual plans, aligned with Group HR and Regional Operations strategies
• Implement and coordinate the full recruitment cycle and keep job descriptions up to date
• Advise on salary, benefits and leave; ensure payroll and the finance department receive the right information each month
• Implement HR policies adapted to local requirements and advise management on labour practices and legal compliance
• Engage with trade unions, bargaining units and work committees, and implement the employee remuneration and benefits policy
• Review monthly HR statistics, submit labour ministry returns, and conduct exit interviews
• Build succession and localisation plans, oversee the performance management system, and manage the disciplinary process
• Identify training needs and run modules such as counselling, HR refreshers and inductions
• Support employee engagement surveys, visit staff areas to promote wellness, and keep employee records and expatriate work and resident permits up to date

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences or equivalent
• At least 8 years in HR management, three at management level, with demonstrable leadership and labour legislative compliance experience
• Competencies: emotional intelligence, analytical and numerical skills, problem solving, verbal and written communication, integrity, assertiveness, diversity management and personal leadership
