Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Housekeeping Supervisor will lead the housekeeping team at Avani Victoria Falls Resort, ensuring all public, guest‑facing and back‑of‑house areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. This role combines operational oversight with staff development to deliver a welcoming environment for all guests.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all public, guest‑facing and back‑of‑house areas are cleaned continuously.
• Enforce health and safety standards throughout the department.
• Ensure staff follow departmental SOPs and LSOPs.
• Coach and orient new team members, providing ongoing training and development.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and maintain records for linen, uniforms and other inventory.
• Oversee lost‑and‑found storage and logging.
• Monitor and maintain par levels for linen, towels and uniforms.
• Foster a motivational work environment and positive inter‑departmental relations.
• Train staff to become multi‑skilled across all housekeeping functions.
• Implement measures to minimise waste of materials and amenities.
• Maintain proper key controls and manage overtime effectively.
• Meet VIP and special guest requirements, especially for families with children.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising housekeeping operations in a hotel or resort.
• Strong knowledge of health‑and‑safety regulations and housekeeping SOPs.
• Ability to train, coach and motivate a diverse team.
• Organisational skills for inventory control and supplier coordination.
• Attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction.
