Hotel Electrician

About the role

The Hotel Electrician is responsible for ensuring all electrical equipment and systems across the Hyatt Regency Harare operate safely and efficiently. You will perform routine maintenance, respond to emergency calls, and support the engineering team in delivering high‑quality service to guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair hotel electrical equipment to minimise downtime.
• Complete maintenance work orders promptly, following standard operating procedures.
• Perform night‑shift duties and be on‑call for emergencies.
• Assemble, install and test wiring, fixtures and electrical devices.
• Inspect electrical systems, identify faults or hazards, and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Update job cards and maintenance software after each task.
• Execute preventive‑maintenance programmes, including cleaning distribution boards and replacing ageing cables.
• Produce technical reports and inspection tours to verify system performance.

Required profile

• Minimum five O‑level subjects including Mathematics and English.
• Class 1 Electrician certificate from a recognised college.
• HND in Electrical Power Engineering (preferred).
• At least three years post‑training experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of local electrical standards and IEE regulations.
• Computer literacy for using computerized maintenance management systems.

Required skills

• Class 1 Electrician certification.
