Excel Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an Excel Specialist to become the backbone of our data operations across Africa. You will design, build and maintain advanced spreadsheet solutions, turning raw data into actionable business intelligence for finance, marketing and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain complex, scalable Excel workbooks, pivot tables and interactive dashboards.
• Write and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction and report generation.
• Clean, validate and merge large datasets from CRMs, ERPs and cloud databases using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Build dynamic forecasting, budgeting and performance‑tracking models for senior management.
• Audit existing Excel files, troubleshoot formula errors and ensure 100 % data integrity.
• Translate technical insights into visual, easy‑to‑read formats and train remote cross‑functional teams on the tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience focused on data analysis, spreadsheet management or financial modeling.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate across African time zones.
• Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel – advanced formulas, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query.
• VBA macro development and custom scripting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI.
• Basic knowledge of SQL databases.
