About the role
The Communications Assistant will support World Vision Zimbabwe’s overall communications strategy, helping to expand the organisation’s digital presence and showcase the impact of its work with vulnerable children.
Key responsibilities
- Create and edit digital content such as flyers, newsletters, blogs, press releases, infographics and videos using basic design tools.
- Manage and grow social media channels (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube) with engaging, well‑written posts.
- Produce innovative visual assets to communicate key reports and impact stories.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice across all communications.
- Update and maintain the communications and CRM database, track campaign metrics and generate monthly analytics dashboards.
- Support event logistics, media briefings and internal launches.
- Assist with website content updates, SEO optimisation and minor technical troubleshooting.
Required profile
- A degree in Media Studies, Journalism or a related field.
- Strong written communication skills and a passion for storytelling.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Proactive, service‑focused attitude.
Required skills
- Canva and Adobe Express (or Adobe Suite) for design.
- Social media platforms: Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube.
- Photography and videography.
- WordPress or similar content management systems.
- CRM tools such as Mailchimp, Salesforce or HubSpot.
