About the role

The Avani Victoria Falls Resort is seeking a motivated Commis to join its culinary team. This entry‑level position supports the preparation and service of food across the resort’s outlets, ensuring high standards of quality, hygiene and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and service of food, including mise‑en‑place for all outlets.
• Follow Avani food preparation and presentation guidelines to maintain consistent culinary quality.
• Keep all work areas clean, tidy and compliant with hygiene standards.
• Maintain food safety practices such as proper storage, dating, rotation and sanitation.
• Support hotel property care, assist at events, banquets and other functions as required.
• Participate in departmental training and uphold departmental checklists and cleaning schedules.
• Adhere to personal hygiene, grooming, fire safety and health & safety rules.

• Ability to follow detailed food preparation and safety procedures.
