About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis to join the culinary team at Avani Victoria Falls Resort. The successful candidate will support food preparation and service across our outlets, ensuring high standards of quality, hygiene and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and service of food, including mise‑en‑place for all outlets.
• Follow Avani’s food preparation and presentation guidelines to maintain consistent culinary quality.
• Keep work areas clean, tidy and compliant with hygiene standards.
• Maintain food safety practices such as proper storage, dating, rotation and sanitation.
• Support events, banquets and other functions as required.
• Adhere to personal hygiene, grooming, fire safety and health & safety rules.
• Participate in departmental training and follow checklists and cleaning schedules.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic attitude towards hospitality and guest service.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Willingness to learn and follow standard operating procedures.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Required skills

• Basic food preparation techniques.
