Braille Transcriber / Embosser Operator

About the role
The Disability Resource Centre at Midlands State University’s Kwekwe Campus is seeking a dedicated Braille Transcriber and Embosser Operator. You will support lecturers and students with disabilities by producing accessible Braille materials and providing on‑site assistance.
Key responsibilities
- Transcribe examination scripts, assignments and tests into Braille.
- Produce Braille documents using an embosser.
- Assist students with daily academic activities, including computer use, reading, registration and invoice requests.
- Run examinations for students with disabilities, handling printing and invigilation.
- Accompany and motivate students in sporting and club activities.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Centre Coordinator.
Required profile
- First degree in Special Needs Education or ICT in Education.
- Formal qualification in Braille transcription.
- Minimum three years of relevant work experience.
