Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

About the role

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager supports the Food & Beverage Manager in overseeing daily operations across all dining outlets at Avani Victoria Falls Resort. This role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences through operational excellence, financial discipline, and strong team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing strategic and operational plans, preparing the annual budget and monitoring revenue targets.
• Oversee daily operations of restaurants, bars, lounges, banqueting, and in‑room dining, ensuring brand standards are met.
• Coordinate smoothly between Service, Culinary, Stewarding and Purchasing departments.
• Lead visible service during operational periods to drive guest satisfaction.
• Monitor outlet performance, implement continuous improvement initiatives and resolve guest concerns promptly.
• Maximise departmental revenue, control labour costs, monitor food and beverage costs and reduce waste through effective inventory management.
• Analyse financial reports, take corrective actions and support stock control processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting a Food & Beverage Manager in a hotel or resort environment.
• Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team motivation and service excellence.
• Ability to manage budgets, monitor financial performance and drive profitability.
• Excellent guest‑focused mindset, capable of handling complaints and recovering service.
