Artisan – Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Technician

About the role

The Artisan – DPF is responsible for maintaining, repairing and overhauling Diesel Particulate Filters and related exhaust after‑treatment systems on Sandvik equipment. The role ensures optimal performance, compliance with emission standards and longevity of critical components.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing, inspection and troubleshooting of DPF systems.
• Execute maintenance tasks such as cleaning, regeneration and replacement of DPF units.
• Repair and overhaul DPF components, including sensors, injectors and control units.
• Use specialised tools and diagnostic software to resolve DPF‑related issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
• Collaborate with engineering and technical support teams on complex DPF challenges.
• Provide technical guidance and training to less‑experienced technicians.
• Manage DPF spare‑parts inventory to ensure component availability.

Required profile

• Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Automotive Technician).
• 3‑5 years of experience maintaining diesel engines and exhaust after‑treatment systems, with a focus on DPFs.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work independently or in a team.
