Water Engineer

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Harare, Zimbabwe. The Water Engineer will design, analyse and optimise systems for water supply, treatment, distribution and wastewater management, ensuring reliability, safety and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise water supply, treatment, distribution and wastewater management systems.
• Conduct technical assessments, prepare engineering drawings and reports, and perform hydraulic calculations.
• Select and specify equipment such as pumps and control systems.
• Oversee installation, commissioning and performance monitoring of water infrastructure.
• Collaborate with project managers, field teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Water or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong technical knowledge and practical experience in water supply, distribution, treatment and wastewater processes.
• Experience designing, sizing and operating pump stations and related mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and produce engineering drawings, hydraulic models and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with relevant standards, regulations and best practices in water and wastewater engineering.
