Staff Development Fellow – Computer Science (2 positions)

About the role

The Faculty of Science and Technology at Midlands State University seeks two Staff Development Fellows to support teaching, research and innovation in Computer Science. The role combines tutorial delivery, curriculum support and participation in research projects while the incumbent pursues a Master's degree.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver tutorials, workshops and supplementary learning materials for undergraduate Computer Science courses.
• Assist lecturers in teaching, assessment design and providing feedback on student progress.
• Collaborate with faculty to develop assessment tools and support course delivery.
• Participate in research activities and assist faculty members with projects in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI or Cybersecurity.
• Engage in the university’s staff development programmes to enhance pedagogical skills.

Required profile

• BSc Honours in Computer Science or Computer Systems Engineering with at least a 2.1 classification.
• Willingness to enrol in a Master’s programme in Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or Cybersecurity and complete it within five years of appointment.
• Demonstrated interest in teaching and research within the computing discipline.
