Public Law Lecturer – University Position in Zimbabwe

About the role

The university seeks a qualified Public Law Lecturer to join its Faculty of Law in Manicland, Zimbabwe. The successful candidate will engage in teaching, research, and community service, contributing to the development of students and the broader legal community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and tutorials in public law subjects such as Human Rights Law, Public International Law, International Criminal Law, and Humanitarian Law.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and theses.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university activities, including meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars.
• Conduct active research in public law, publishing findings that benefit students and the global community.
• Promote innovation and potential commercialisation of legal research outputs.

Required profile

• Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Public Law.
• Undergraduate law degree.
• PhD in Law (completed or under examination) with a focus on Public Law.
• At least five years of teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels within a law school.
• Demonstrated experience teaching public law subjects.
• A tertiary teaching qualification is an advantage.
