Programme Officer – Programme Management & Fundraising

About the role

The Programme Officer will lead and coordinate the implementation of programme activities and projects focused on dialogue, peace, and social cohesion in Harare. This role ensures that projects meet performance targets, stay within budget, and deliver high‑quality reports and knowledge products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate implementation of programme activities and projects.
• Monitor programme and project performance, budgets, workplans, and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance and submit timely narrative and progress reports.
• Produce knowledge products and document lessons learned, success stories, and best practices.
• Represent the organization at meetings and coordination forums.
• Support senior management in high‑level stakeholder engagements with government and other partners.
• Lead fundraising and resource mobilisation for the programme pillar.
• Assist Project Officers to achieve planned results and perform any other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Peacebuilding, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Conflict and Transformation, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant programme or project management experience, including experience in a senior programme officer role.
• Demonstrated experience in projects related to dialogue, peace, and social cohesion.
• Strong report writing, planning, coordination, and communication abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
